DIY for 4th of JULY(:

Rocking 4th of July in some DIY!

Here are some great DIY shorts for fourth of july. THe best part is they are are easy to mae without breaking the bank. Normaly these type of shorts tend to be quite expensive even trying to by them on etsy there are at the LEAST $35.
To start off these shorts there is two different types you have to choose from.
 Theres sewing.
Then theres painting.
Painting is the easier choice and also has a more destressed feel but the sewing costs less and also is more of a clean look.
Okay to begin the Painting you will need supplies.
Here are just some simple supplies:
1.Fabric paint(blue,red,and white)
2.Star stencil
3.Paint brushes
4.Shorts of choice.
To begin you lay your shorts out flat and decide which side you want the stars to be on the you paint the side blue withthe blue fabric paint. Then you paint the red stripes on the other side allowing the blue to dry COMPLETELY. After the blue side is dry using the star stencil paint on the wite stars. After the stars are dry your shorts are ready for a knight on the town.(Scroll down to end of collum to see advice on how to style.)
SEWING
Supplies:
1.Needle and thread
2.American Flag bandanna
3.Shorts
4.Paper Bag.
The sewing is pretty simple.First lay out the shorts the get a paper bag and trace the outline of one side of the shorts as in picture 3.Then lay out the bandana and put the template you made out of the paper bag on top of it and cut the shape of the side of your shorts out.Next place the cut out piece of bandanna on your shorts and sew all the way around the edges like in picture 5.Repeat all the steps for the other side and you are done(: (Keep reading for styling advice.)
Styling(:
These shorts are so bold the it can get over whelming trying to style them some times. My favorite way to style them is with some laid back chucks and a loose white v-neck.
